Climate regeneration and generational changes as key challenges for urban development

Climate regeneration and generational changes as key challenges for urban development

The project involves the preparation and organization of scientific events related to the issues of value economics – it is planned to organize two program pathways that will be presented as part of the Open Eyes Economy Summit 2022 Congress, as part of the City-Idea thematic block: path entitled “Climatic regeneration of the city” and the path entitled “Young people in the city”.

Their aim is to present scientific achievements regarding these issues, including the dissemination of the latest results of scientific research or development work. Issues within which the results of the work will be presented:

  • Climate regeneration of the city: Cities as a source of threats and opportunities in stopping climate change (energy transformation, city responsible for water);
  • Regeneration of functional and spatial structures (planning and urban challenges, transport and telecommunications systems);
  • Young people in the city: Who are we designing modern cities for (co-living of young people and seniors), building a city friendly to the needs of young people.

The planned series of events will help consolidate the position of KUE as an important research and scientific center in these topics. The possibility of relying on a widely recognized and valued economic congress, co-organized by KUE, allows the research results to be disseminated relatively quickly and also attract international interest in them.
