In recent years, there has been an increased interest in home sewage treatment plants, which constitute an alternative to the commonly used septic tanks and are increasingly used in areas where the construction of sewage systems is unprofitable. Due to the fact that the development of regional sewage management is closely related to the development of high-efficiency wastewater treatment technologies, the subject of the project was modern MBBR moving bed technology. The aim of the research project was to investigate the impact of selected design and operational parameters on the efficiency of elimination of organic compounds in fragmented models of MBBR moving bed reactors. The analyzed factors were: the degree of filling the bed with fittings, the amount of hydraulic load and the intensity of aeration. The mentioned parameters were selected due to their decisive impact on the proper functioning and operation of moving bed reactors.
