Postdependence Geographies in Central & Eastern Europe (PostCEE) is a research network connecting scientists and practitioners who focus on the Central and Eastern European (CEE) region and analyze it from a postcolonial and decolonial perspective. Online, we analyze how global colonization is playing out in different locations in the Central and Eastern European region, providing a platform for exploring issues related to difference, identity, borders, migration and border thinking. Created in 2020 and funded by the Regional Studies Association, the network brings together researchers working in Central and Eastern Europe and international and local actors and activists from various countries in Central and Eastern Europe. We are particularly interested in engaging with municipalities in different regions of Central and Eastern Europe, as well as with charities, think-tanks and research institutions outside academia to promote empirical insight into different CEE contexts. The project will result in publications that will highlight the social and political problems of the region from a new analytical perspective.
