Political and economic challenges in the post-Soviet area in connection with the Russia-Ukraine war

The aim of the project is to identify political and economic challenges in the area of ​​the former USSR in connection with the war between Russia and Ukraine. The project aims to answer the questions:

  • does the war between Russia and Ukraine threaten the sovereignty of the states established in the post-Soviet area and how does it determine the foreign policy of these states;
  • whether the war between Russia and Ukraine affects the internal and foreign economic policy of the former USSR countries and how it determines it.

By combining quantitative and qualitative methods, the authors will try to critically assess the type of political and economic challenges that the former USSR countries must face. The authors intend to refer to the theories of: International Political Economy, international relations, international economic relations and foreign policy analysis. The innovativeness of the project will consist in combining a variety of research methods and techniques and factors shaping the economic policy of the former USSR countries in the light of their foreign policy.
