The project was a continuation of research on development. However, the aim of this part of the analysis was to determine the regional specifics of the development process. This specification of the issue allowed for the development of a diagnosis of contemporary development determinants and created a new field of analysis of the development of specific areas. The diagnosis took into account a wide range of variables, treating development itself as a process of cumulative change taking place in social, economic and cultural conditions.
