Kolegium Gospodarki i Administracji Publicznej UEK

The aim of the project is to analyze the attitudes of both clergy and lay Catholics towards the problems of environmental degradation and the climate crisis. The issues of awareness, discourses and attitudes towards global environmental challenges are examined, as well as pro-ecological ideas and practices developing in Catholic circles in Poland. An important topic is the possibilities and barriers of “greening” the Catholic religion in practice. This topic is implemented by an interdisciplinary research team through the following packages:

  1. analysis of the official teaching of the Catholic Church
  2. analysis of ecological discourse in the Catholic press
  3. exploratory study of the Catholic ecological movement
  4. research on ecological awareness and attitudes among clergy.

The research is being carried out within the Center for Advanced Population and Religious Research (CASPAR) of the Krakow University of Economics in 2021.
