Cities are subject to constant transformations related to, among others, social, economic, political or cultural. In research on these processes, spatial aspects seem to be less important when compared to economic, demographic and social aspects. Despite their obvious interdependence, it is spatial changes that result from the first three aspects.
The aim of the project is to apply a multidisciplinary (or multithreaded) perspective to the development of the spatial and functional structure of the city. Research and analysis of legal, social and natural issues (aspects) shaping city space will be presented.
The research will focus on urban development strategies in the context of goals related to, among others: with improving the quality of life of residents or improving the quality of the natural environment (including adaptation to climate change) as one of the most important challenges of modern cities. The project will result in case studies of selected urban centers using previous research by team members.
