Status and development prospects of weather-dependent energy sources in Poland

Status and development prospects of weather-dependent energy sources in Poland

The aim of the project is to join a multi-threaded discussion on theoretical and practical issues related to the development of weather-dependent energy sources and their role in the energy system in Poland. An attempt will be made to analyze the cause and effect of the state of the energy production sector, with particular emphasis on the use of weather-dependent sources of energy production in Poland’s energy mix.

Electricity in the modern world is the most important factor of social and economic development. The ability to compete and create lasting economic advantages depends on the availability of energy sources that have relatively low operating costs. Energy has become a measure of a country’s position on the international arena. It significantly influences the intensity of relations between economic entities and individual countries.

The situation on the energy market in Poland, but also in the entire European Union, makes it necessary to verify the rules. Changing rules of operation, the emergence of new stakeholders and conditions for the development of the energy market require a broad and interdisciplinary assessment. The ex poste and ex ante perspective allows for a multi-threaded and multi-faceted presentation of the market development strategy. Therefore, it is necessary to attempt to broadly approach the problems focused on energy production using the developing weather-dependent energy sources in Poland, which include solar and wind energy. The research will attempt to present: the relations between the energy industry and the rest of the economy, the concept of sustainable energy development, climate and energy policy, challenges facing the energy sector in connection with current regulations and market trends, legal, administrative and financial conditions for investments in renewable energy in Poland.
